The Happiness Project: Or Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun
By Gretchen Rubin

Why read it?

Let's be real - there's not a whole lot to be happy about right now. I think we'll all doing it tough in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, I'd like to let you know that August 8th is HAPPINESS HAPPENS DAY. It's a day to celebrate being happy and all things happy!

So, even thought right now things are pretty difficult, why not take some time to consider things in life that make you happy? Family, friends, pets...anything, really!

You can even turn all the terrible news about the pandemic around - there's so much talk about the number of cases and the people who have tragically lost their lives, but why not look at the figures for the people who have recovered? I think it's been easy to get lost in the midst of all the gloom, and not celebrate those wins - big or small!

To tie in with Happiness Happens Day, why not take a look at this book, called The Happiness Project: Or Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun. It's by a lady named Gretchen Rubin, who spent a year trying to find happiness in all areas of her life. It's a really fun and interesting book...not to mention with some great tips on how she did it, and how you can do it yourself!

If you're interested in checking it out, this title's available to borrow as an eBook, via OverDrive. Otherwise, just see what you can do on the 8th (and beyond couldn't hurt, either!) to find a bit more happiness, amidst all the gloom!
