Book of the Month
Feature
My spare heart
By Jared Thomas
Why read it?
This month, we're celebrating NAIDOC Week, and featuring a brand new title from First Nations author, Jared Thomas. He is a Nukunu person of the Southern Flinders Ranges.
One of the motivations behind Jared writing this book was to dispel myths regarding Aboriginal people and alcohol abuse, showing that the problem is a broad one, and that Aboriginal people possess attitudes about alcohol that rarely are communicated to the broader public.
"This book is for anyone but especially young people that are impacted by someone in their life suffering from alcoholism," Thomas said.
Why not borrow this one via OverDrive here? We don't have this title in the physical collection at present, but check out the Deadly Reads display near the Library Desk for other books by First Nations authors.
