Flock: First Nations Stories Then and Now
By Ellen van Neervan (editor)

Why read it?

It's Reconciliation Week, so this month, we're featuring Flock: First Nations Stories Then and Now - curated and introduced by award-winning author Ellen van Neerven. This collection brings together twenty different short stories from First Nations writers. Established writers such as Alf Taylor, Tony Birch and Tara June Winch feature, alongside new voices in Cass Lynch, Adam Thompson and Mykaela Saunders.

The themes and subjects covered include the Stolen Generations, connection to County, intergenerational trauma, spirituality and more. It's a moving and incredibly important collection that demonstrates how powerful First Nations storytelling is, from different perspectives and generations of writers.

Other contributors in this anthology include Herb Wharton, Archie Weller, Samuel Wagan Watson, Ellen van Neerven, Michael Torres, Jared Thomas, Melanie Saward, SJ Norman, Jasmin McGaughey, Melissa Lucashenko, Jeanine Leane, Gayle Kennedy, Jane Harrison and Bryan Andy.
