Channel Kindness: stories of kindness and community
By Lady Gaga & Born This Way Foundation reporters

Why read it?

I think we can all agree that 2020 has pretty much been a dumpster fire of a year. Starting with the horrendous bushfires that wrought havoc on so much of our beautiful country, and then the Covid-19 pandemic that has affected the entire world. Not a whole lot to be optimistic about, understandably.

But there are still many things in the world to be happy about, and to celebrate. Kindness, for example! Whilst the pandemic has certainly brought out the worst in some people, it has also shown us how wonderful humankind can be (and we certainly saw that during the bushfires, too).

Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation - which she founded with her mother - aims to empower youth, embrace differences, and inspire kindness and bravery. This collection brings together stories of young people who have experienced and shown kindness in a variety of ways. The stories are often heartbreaking and beautiful by turns. All of them, though, show how kindness can have an impact - and, sometimes, change the world!

We have this available in eBook format, or you can find it in the library, if you prefer a hard copy version.

A great choice for holiday reading, especially after a year like this one!
